In order to boost tourism and promote Hanoi’s image, the city organised “Tourism promotion festival 2015” at the Ly Thai To Flower Garden from November 7-8 with 40 promotional booths from well-known tourism brand names, such as Hanoi Tourist, Vietjet Air, UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club and the Centre for Malaysia Tourism Promotion.
Taking place from November 1-30, “Tourism promotion festival” is part of Hanoi's sale promotion month 2015 organized by the municipal Department of Industry and Trade.
Accordingly, at the event, tourism businesses had promotional activities and offered many discount tours and airfares.
Domestic and foreign visitors had chances to choose as 500 high-quality tours and a thousand flights are being offered at special prices during the festival.
According to the report of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, the two-day event attracted over 10,000 visitors. The travel enterprises sold nearly 3,000 tour fare discounts.
Director of Centre for Malaysia Tourism Promotion Zaki Mohd Salleh Ahmad said that the festival does not only support local travel enterprises but also create opportunities for foreign tourism enterprises, especially for those of Malaysia to introduce its image, land and people to Vietnamese tourists.
Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade Tran Thi Phuong Lan stressed that the event is expected to serve as a catalyst to boost tourism growth in the capital of Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general.
According to the Deputy Director, the event is one of the key measures for the department to stimulate consumer demand. It help mitigate to the maximum extent of unfair competition among businesses, thus building good image for Vietnam's tourism in eyes of international friends.
