In October, the number of international tourists to Vietnam is estimated to reach more than 649,000 arrivals, up 3.6% from the previous month and up 16.1% against the same period last year.
In the first 10 months of this year, Vietnam is estimated to receive over 6.3 million foreign visitors, down 4.1% from the same period a year ago.
Some countries which had the increase of the number of tourists to Vietnam are: Republic of Korea over 897,000 visitors, up 30.7%; Japan nearly 552,000 visitors, an increase of 3%; Taiwan more than 365,000 visitors, up 10.2%.
Visitors from the Americas reached over 524,000 visitors, an increase of 1.1% over the same period last year, of which arrivals from the United States reached nearly 404,000 visitors, an increase of 7.9%. The number of international tourists to the country from Africa reached over 22,000 arrivals, a rise of 48%.
