The Hanoitimes - on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2013, the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee met and extended happy new year wishes to intellectuals and scientists at the Party Central Committee’s headquarters .
The meeting was attended by comrades: Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat; comrade Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, member of the Secretariat and Head of its Commission for Popularisation and Education and representatives of ministries, branches and central organizations.
In recent years, with the rapid development of the scientific revolution and modern technology, the intelligentsia became an especially important human resource in the formation and development of the knowledge economy in service of socio-economic development and building the power of the country under its development strategy. Early goals make our country into a modern industrial country by 2020, requiring a shorter development path and promoting to the highest level of all resources, the intellectual potential of the nation, particularly the creative capacity of the intelligentsia.
The scientists hope that the resolutions and directives of the Party on the construction of the intelligentsia, scientific and technological development in the new period will soon be applied in real life, to make a breakthrough in advocacy, assembling and developing the capabilities, intelligence and enthusiasm of Vietnamese intellectuals, to create conditions for intellectuals and scientists make worthy contributions to the construction and maintenance of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
At the meeting, the scientists contributed many confidential ideas, expressing their belief in the correct lines and policies of the Party; looking forward to the Party and State continuing to better the mechanism and policies, creating favourable conditions for the intellectual and scientific staff to contribute confidential, talent and intelligence to the cause of construction and defence of the country.
Mr. Le Hong Anh said: the Party and State always recognize the precious services and contribution of the Vietnamese intellectuals and scientist staff, and respect and take interest in creating favourable conditions for them as well.
The Party Central Committee, term X issued Resolution 27 on "Building the intellectual staff in the period of promoting the national industrialization and modernization" which highly appreciates the role of Vietnamese intellectuals in the process of promoting national industrialization, modernization and international integration, developing Vietnam’s advanced culture./
