Following this decision, President To Lam signed the decision to bestow the Gold Star Order upon General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in recognition of his significant and outstanding contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
According to Article 34 of the Law on Emulation and Commendation, the Gold Star Order is the highest decoration of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, awarded to individuals who have made exceptional contributions in various fields such as politics, economics, society, culture, arts, science, technology, defense, security, foreign affairs, or other areas.
The Politburo had earlier announced that President To Lam would be in charge of the Party’s Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, while General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong focused on his intensive treatment.
Recently, as per the requirements of the Central Committee's Health Protection Council, General Secretary Trong has been performing his duties while undergoing health treatment and care.
The Politburo, the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, and key leaders have instructed specialized agencies to mobilize a team of leading professors, doctors, medical staff, and top experts, as well as the best possible conditions for the treatment and care of the General Secretary.
The Politburo calls on the entire Party, the people, and the armed forces to maintain absolute trust in the Party's leadership and the State's governance. The Politburo urges everyone to strengthen unity and continue building on the comprehensive achievements the country has attained, striving to overcome challenges and fulfill the goals set by the 13th National Party Congress.
Authorities at all levels are encouraged to maintain political stability, safeguard independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security, ensure social order and safety, boost socio-economic development, and improve the material and spiritual well-being of the people.
