Phu Quoc island has welcomed 750,000 visitors, 30% of them are foreign arrivals in the nine months leading up to October this year.
Huynh Quang Hung, vice chairman of Phu Quoc island district People’s Committee said 6,000 hotel rooms are currently available in Phu Quoc. The district expects to have a total of 15,000 rooms by 2020 to serve 2.5 - to 3 million visitors per year.
According to Phu Quoc John's Tours, the number of international visitors to Phu Quoc has increased significantly in recent years.
So far, the island district has attracted more than 200 foreign and domestic invested projects totally capitalised at VND168,000 billion in tourism, services and entertainment.
