The Vietnamese government has always attached importance to promoting cooperation between Vietnamese localities and Japanese counterparts, including Hyogo prefecture, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.The PM made the statement while receiving Hyogo prefecture’s delegation led by its Governor Toshizo Ido in Hanoi on October 31.

Expressing his gratitude to PM Phuc’s warm welcome, Hyogo Governor Toshizo Ido said that
this is the third time he has visited Vietnam and he was happy to witness positive changes in the country’s infrastructure systems.
Toshizo Ido informed the PM that the delegation will work with many Vietnamese localities to promote trade and investment cooperation, including Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Nam and other localities.
Currently, some 70 enterprises of Hyogo are investing in Vietnam and many other small- and medium-sized enterprises from the prefecture are looking to do business in the country, Toshizo Ido added.
He informed PM Phuc that the visit to Vietnam was attended by representatives of provincial business associations seeking opportunities for investment and business cooperation in Vietnam.
With a large number of Vietnamese living, working and studying in Hyogo, Toshizo Ido expressed his belief that a large number of Vietnamese currently living in Hyogo prefecture would work as a bridge to foster its cooperative ties with Vietnamese localities.
The governor said Hyogo also wants to enhance human resources cooperation with Vietnam, and hopes that Vietnamese students will enroll in the upcoming international business courses in the prefecture.
Lauded Governor Toshizo Ido’s proposals, PM Phuc expected that Hyogo prefecture will bolster collaboration with Vietnamese localities in the fields where it boasts strengths and Vietnam has demands.
The Vietnamese government will create favorable conditions for Japanese businesses to successfully invest in the country, Phuc pledged.
He also suggested that Hyogo will promote the exchange of people between the prefecture and Vietnamese localities to enhance mutual understanding, promote the airline routes between Hyogo and Vietnamese localities, strengthen cooperation in the field of tourism.
Hyogo prefecture is famous for its manufacturing industry, medical equipment and pharmaceuticals, heavy industry such as shipbuilding, power and machinery production, marine shipping, foodstuff, garments-textiles and jewelry.
Hyogo prefecture has cooperative ties with five Vietnamese localities, namely Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Long An, Can Tho and Ha Nam provinces. It is home to the sixth largest number of Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Japan.
