At the meeting with Yukihito Honda, Group CEO of Sumitomo Corporation's Diverse Urban Development Group, Chinh endorsed Sumitomo’s coordination with Hanoi to develop a culturally rich, modern North Hanoi Smart City. He also affirmed continuous support for the proposed Van Phong 2 gas-fired power plant project.

The government leader appreciated Sumitomo's investment projects in Vietnam, describing them as substantial with significant spillover effects on the country's socioeconomic development. Notably, the group's industrial parks have attracted $6 billion in investments and created jobs for over 90,000 Vietnamese workers.

Yukihito Honda thanked Chinh for his support and agreed with the prime minister's call to expand investment. He expressed Sumitomo’s commitment to contributing to Vietnam’s development.

The Group CEO also sought continued support from the Vietnamese government for current projects and requested backing for the proposed Van Phong 2 gas-fired power plant project.

Prime Minister Chinh welcomed Sumitomo’s new initiatives and pledged the government's maximum support while maintaining an open, transparent, and stable investment climate with simplified procedures and legal clarity.
