Vietnam gets US$3.8 billion from fruit and vegetable exports in Jan-Jul

The exports in the first seven months account for 47% of the whole year's target.

THE HANOI TIMES — Vietnam has earned an estimated $3.8 billion from fruit and vegetable exports between January and July, down 2.2% year-on-year.

The seven-month exports were largely contributed by July's export value, which rose 33% on year to $731 million.

Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (VinaFruit), called this a positive turnaround for the sector.

“Much of the recovery is attributed to surging demand for durian, and the steady growth of key products, such as coconuts, processed mangoes, and passion fruits," he said.

In the first half of 2025, the US became Vietnam’s fastest-growing export market, with turnover rocketing 166% over the previous year and accounting for 8.42% of total exports.

Between January and July, China remained Vietnam’s largest market, contributing 52.62% of the total export value. However, this figure is down 65% from the same period last year.
