Speaking at the ceremony, Hang said: “The new headquarters of Hanoi’s Party Committee – home to nearly 300 officials – has been opened for seven months. One of the most special features of the building is the library, which was built to collect and preserve rare books and documents that serve to enrich knowledge and increase awareness and capability of all officials and staff, from which they will be able to better fulfill their missions.”
"The library is expected to promote self-learning and the reading culture among all leaders, which will spread further into the entire city’s Party Committee," she said.
It will also be a place where all of the committee’s officials and staff can conduct research, study and hone their expertise, and acquire and consolidate their knowledge," she added.
“With the library having such major significances, I am pleased and honoured to give it some of the very first books. These are the rare and important books and documents that have helped me a lot during my tenure,” she said.
Hang contributed about 1,000 books of more than 700 titles on the following subjects: Theoretical books on the ideological background of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought and and its practice today, as well as complete Party documents and documents that guide the learning of the Party documents.
They also include documents on the Hanoi Party Committee through periods and its full-term work programs, traditional history books about the capital, and documents about Party Committees under the Hanoi Party Committee, and biographies of local notables.
In attendance were also Standing Deputy Secretary of the city’s Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of the city’s Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong and leaders of the committee’s departments and offices.
