Power supply secured for National Day parade

Hanoi authorities have instructed power providers to ensure secure, uninterrupted electricity for the National Day parade and related events.

THE HANOI TIMES — The Hanoi People’s Committee has requested an uninterrupted electricity supply for all National Day anniversary activities, including rehearsals, dry runs, and the official parade on September 2.

The 80th National Day celebrations are scheduled to take place on the morning of September 2 at Ba Dinh Square and on surrounding streets.

Around 40,000 participants, including citizens, invited guests, and parade units, are expected to turn out. Preparations include installing 30,000-seat stands, four LED screens, propaganda banners, and 400 loudspeakers along major roads, as well as five larger speaker clusters. These tasks are being coordinated by Hanoi's Department of Culture and Sports.

According to the city’s order, Thu Lam Commune in the former Dong Anh District must collaborate with the National Power Transmission Corporation to resolve all violations of the 500/220 kV Hiep Hoa–Dong Anh–Bac Ninh 2 power corridor, especially around pylons 72–73, by the end of July.

To mitigate risks, local governments have been asked to increase public communication about the dangers of flying kites or fishing near high-voltage lines and to sign safety pledges with operators of fishing lakes.

The Vietnam Electricity Group, National Load Dispatch Center, and Hanoi Power Corporation have been asked to develop an optimal plan for reliable power supply, while the Hanoi Power Corporation must inspect central areas, educate on safe electricity use, eliminate hazards, and coordinate with local authorities to promote safe, efficient energy use.
