The Chosun University in Gwangju in the Republic of Korea has hosted a workshop for local and foreign students together with experts to explore the career and thought of Vietnam’s late President Ho Chi Minh.
Addressing the opening ceremony, President of the Korean Association of Vietnamese Studies Ahn Kyoong Hwan hailed President Ho Chi Minh as an ingenious leader and an exceptional cultural icon of Vietnam.
He stressed the need to study the thoughts, moral example and personality of President Ho Chi Minh and apply it to daily life.
Meanwhile, President of the Korea – Vietnam Cultural Exchange Association Hwang Geum Chu said the workshop contributed to fostering mutual exchange and understanding between the two nations’ experts and peoples, thus consolidating the Vietnam-RoK friendship.
For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Pham Huu Chi expressed his delight and pride to hear what local experts had to say about President Ho Chi Minh.
The event, organised by the Korean Association of Vietnamese Studies with support from the Korea – Vietnam Cultural Exchange Association, aimed to mark the 70 th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2) and the 125th birth anniversary of the late President (May 19).
A photo exhibition of the East Sea was also part of the activities in the framework of the workshop.
