President Sang: Renewal, creativeness to adapt to changeable world – nations’ certain choice
As part of his State visit to Japan, State President Truong Tan Sang delivered a speech before the Diet on March 18.
President Sang said that globalization and economic connectivity have brought opportunities and propects for Asia Pacific to become a new power center of the world in the 21st century.
After the 2008-2009 global crisis, the region has continued a stimulus for the world’s economic recovery and growth, President Sang said.
Economic restructure and growth model adjustment towards a sustainable development and environmental friendliness based firmly on intellectual and hi-tech have become a major trend, he added.
After reviewing sound developments of bilateral ties between Viet Nam and Japan, President Sang briefed the Diet on the country’s recent achievements.
He expressed his hope that Japan would continue its effective cooperation and active support through sharing management experiences, transferring technological advances, providing official development assistance and selecting Viet Nam a prioritized destination of its new investment inflows.
Japan’s companion and support would help Viet Nam avoid the middle-income trap and implement national industrialization and modernization successfully.
President Sang also stressed that the development of people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in science, technology, education and training laid the basis of the bilateral strategic partnership.
Regarding legislative ties, he affirmed that they have strengthened and founded a legal basis for the right-direction and incessant development of bilateral ties.
Targets of security, development and position of each nation are only reached when each country attaches its destiny to that of the region and the world. As a result, Viet Nam insistently follows the principle of resolving sea disputes through peaceful solutions in accordance with international laws, President Sang said.
In addition, the State leader mentioned the two countries’ cooperation and mutual support at muttilateral forums, saying that the Japan-ASEAN strategic partnership plays an important role in supporting the block to build successfully a common community by 2015.
