The PM informed his guest that the Vietnamese National Assembly approved the appointment of 21 Cabinet members, in the morning of the same day.  He assured the ambassador that he and his cabinet members will attend the extended G7 Summit in Japan this May at the invitation of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and hoped that during the event, Japan will hold bilateral meetings with Vietnam to extensively discuss ways to boost the Vietnam – Japan strategic partnership.

On the occasion, he also called for increased dialogues and mutual support at regional and global forums for the sake of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world. The ambassador wished that the Vietnamese and Japanese PMs will hold talks to strengthen economic ties on the sidelines of the expanded G7 event.

Sharing sympathy with the Vietnamese government and people over the serious impacts of disasters, especially serious saltwater intrusion in the central, Central Highlands and Mekong Delta regions, Ambassador Fukada Hiroshi said the Japanese government wants to help Vietnam improve its capacity for dealing with such weather phenomena.

Japan also likes to boost cooperation with Vietnam in improving public administration management and the business climate to promote investment. The two sides are working to arrange an investment promotion forum between the two countries in Hanoi.
