Promoting tourism through the movie - "Kong: Skull Island"

Hanoitimes - Last week, Vietnamese tourism has a remarkable impression because the blockbuster movie "Kong: Skull Island" which was shot in Vietnam has been globally released. The success of the film has made Vietnam`s tourism industry more promising.

Tour "Follow Kong’s footprint" gained benefit

After "Kong: Skull Island" released, many big travel agencies around the world have launched their "Follow Kong’s Footprint" tour. The government of Gold Coast city (Queensland, Australia) - one of places was selected by director Jordan Vogt-Roberts to film, held this tour first. Exotic Voyages, the world-famous travel agency, has launched a product called the "New Kong: Skull Island Tour" with over $ 2,000 USD for 10 days and 9 nights along with never-had-before experiences.

The StarLight and Impress Travel companies have welcomed moviegoers to explore the wonderful landscape of "Kong's House”. Signature Cruise Halong based in Vietnam is much quicker to invite visitors to explore Ha Long, Trang An, Quang Binh before the film is launched. And now, most travel agencies in Vietnam can not miss Ha Long, Ninh Binh, Quang Binh in their advertising campaigns.

In Vietnam, Director of VietSense Travel Company - Nguyen Van Tai also said: "The number of domestic and international tourists booking tours to Ha Long, Trang An (Ninh Binh), Phong Nha (Quang Binh) at VietSense Travel has increased about 30 % after "Kong: Skull Island" released.

Visitors travelling to Ha Long increased about 30-40%, and those to Ninh Binh, Quang Binh are estimated to increase 20-30%.

"Vietnam – the world film studio"

On the day "Kong: Skull Island" is officially premiered in Vietnam, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has granted the position of Vietnam Tourism Ambassador to the director Jordan Vogt-Roberts from 2017 to 2019.

Moreover, during the ITB Berlin travel fair (Germany), tourism pictures about "Kong: Skull Island" in Quang Binh, Ninh Binh, Ha Long (Quang Ninh) were also introduced by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism impressing to attract visitors.

From the effects of "Kong", it is said that Vietnam's tourism industry should plan to make promotional clips to invite filmmakers as well as tourists to visit Vietnam. "We can think of making Vietnam a world film studio to attract more international famous filmmakers. Nothing can promote our tourism better than vivid and amazing images from professional filmmakers and world famous TV channels.” – said Deputy Director General of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism - Ha Van Sieu.

And indeed, since the film crew of "Kong: Skull Island" came to Vietnam, the effects of scenes in Quang Binh, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh have attracted many foreign film makers to come to Vietnam and plan for future projects. There are now two British and American film crews expect to perform many scenes in Hanoi capital. It is clearly seen that the slogan "Vietnam - The Timeless Charm" of Vietnam tourism has not made a turning point but "Vietnam – the world film studio" may convey impressive message to visitors.
