Around 33 countries and territories will participate in the 6th Quang Nam Heritage Festival that is scheduled to take place on June 7 to 14.

The event will also attract hundreds of artists of three international organizations and art troupes of 35 cities and province throughout the country. The opening ceremony of the festival will be organized at the Tam Thanh Square in Quang Nam Porvince’s Tam Ky Town on June 9. The closing day will be held at Hoai Riaver square in the ancient town of Hoi An on June 14. Since the first Quang Nam Heritage Festival in 2003, the local culture, landscape, and people have become better known in Vietnam and worldwide.
The Quang Nam Heritage Festival aims to promote Vietnamese unique cultural values, Quang Nam’s typical features; share national and international experiences in heritage management and preservation; introduce Quang Nam’s tourism potentials and lure investors; boost cultural exchange; develop tourism infrastructure, products and brand of the province. It is also a chance to exchange experience on management and preservation heritage cultural values among localities.
The festival will include a series of cultural activities, such as exhibition on Vietnam’s sea and islands, international seminar on recognizing and protecting cultural heritages, inctroduction of Vietnam’s intangible cultural heritage sites recognized by UNESCO, international Choir Competition, Bai Choi traditional singing festival, Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival, inauguration of Tam Thanh Community Art Village, introduction of Ky Anh Tunnel, sport and folk games,and among.
On this occasion, the local authorities will launch about 20 new destinations in Hoi An ancient town, and districts My Son, Tam Ky and Tra My. The organization board expects to draw more than 800,000 visitors to the festival.
