Quang Ngai Sea and Island Culture Week slated for August

The Quang Ngai Sea and Island Culture Week will be held on the South Central Coast of the Quang Ngai Province and other coastal districts at the end of August.

The event, organised by the Quang Ngai People’s Committee, will include relevant outdoor activities such as a seminar titled ‘The Cultural Legacy of Quang Ngai’s Seas and Islands,’ release of books on seas and islands including the Be island, and ranking of the Gieng Tien and Thoi Loi mountains among the top beautiful spots in the country by the government.
The opening ceremony scheduled to be held in Quang Ngai City, will highlight the Culture Week. The event will also include the inauguration of a photo exhibition, Homeland Seas and Islands, as well as many other activities.
It is aimed at promoting the significance of seas and islands for the socio-economic development of the country, stressing the sovereignty of seas and islands in the country, enhancing the awareness of the young generation on protecting and defending the water bodies, improving preservation, and promoting the image of the people of Quang Ngai to international and domestic visitors.
Before that, on June 22 Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dang Ngoc Dung chaired the meeting with functional departments of the province and people's committee of coastal-island districts discussing the plan of organizing the Sea-Island Cultural Week 2017.​
During the week, besides the photo exhibition, also have books display on the sea and islands; receive national-level scenic relics for Gieng Tien and Thoi Loi mountains; organizing contest and photography exhibition with the theme "National Seas - Island"; and other activities.
Especially, the opening ceremony of the Quang Ngai Sea-Islands Cultural Week in 2017 is planned to be held in Quang Ngai City, which will be the highlight of the Week.
