Over the past 15 years, the district has made remarkable strides, upholding the heroic spirit of the homeland while adding beauty to Hanoi's southwest corridor.
Since August 1, 2008, when the 12th National Assembly issued Resolution No.15 to restructure Hanoi's administrative boundaries, Chuong My District has become one of the city's 30 administrative units. Over the past 15 years, the western gateway area of the capital has undergone significant development.

The district's economic development has experienced impressive growth, resulting in a steady improvement in the living standards of its residents. In 2008, the total value of Chuong My's production was only VND6.76 trillion (US$286 million). By 2022, this value had soared to VND31.1 trillion ($1.31 billion).
Per-capita income increased from VND8.8 million ($372) in 2008 to VND68.5 million ($2,892) per person per year in 2022.
Notably, the economic structure has shifted in a positive direction, with the share of industry and services gradually increasing while the proportion of agriculture is decreasing.
Chuong My has also made significant progress in rural development. In 2008, none of the district's communes met the standards for new-style rural areas. Currently, all 30 communes in the district have met the standards.

Looking ahead to 2023, the district strives to have six communes recognized as advanced new-style rural villages, with Thuy Xuan Tien commune aiming to be recognized as a model new-style rural village.
Over the years, Chuong My has harnessed its internal resources and mobilized all available assets to invest in development. It has also leveraged support from the city and promoted social resources to develop transportation infrastructure, schools, cultural facilities, and environmental protection works, all in line with urban development planning.
With a strong focus on improving urban and rural infrastructure, the district has often been likened to a "huge construction site" when hundreds of projects are simultaneously underway.
In particular, the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 6 from Ba La to Xuan Mai, with a total investment of VND8.11 trillion ($342.3 million), has begun construction in the district.
This crucial undertaking is of great significance and meets the aspirations and wishes of the local people. Other projects have also been implemented or are underway, opening up new development opportunities for the district and serving as a driving force for future breakthroughs and advancements.
Since its incorporation into the capital, Chuong My has diligently pursued the resolution of "Developing the cultural industry in Chuong My District from 2022 to 2025, with an orientation to 2030 and a vision to 2045."
In addition, it has made commendable progress in implementing the Prime Minister's Project 06 on "Accelerating the application of data on population, identification and electronic authentication for national digital transformation from 2022 to 2025, with a vision to 2030."

The district has also taken measures to align with the Hanoi Party Committee's Resolution No.18, which focuses on digital transformation and creating a smart city in Hanoi by 2025, with a view to 2030. Proactive and effective implementation of activities related to information technology applications, digital transformation, and e-government construction has been a key focus.
In terms of education and training, Chuong My has successfully implemented the universal education program since 2018, with great emphasis on staff training and investment in equipment. Serious consideration has been given to improving the quality of teachers and managers, as well as the comprehensive education standards for students, with a special focus on 10th grade education. As of 2022, the district has 71 public schools that meet national standards, a commendable 64% increase from the number of qualifying schools in 2008.
Over the past 15 years, the district has made remarkable progress, standing shoulder to shoulder with other districts in the capital, upholding the heroic spirit of the homeland while adding beauty to Hanoi's southwest corridor.
The district has actively accelerated the implementation of Project 06 initiated by the government, along with the seamless integration of two groups of interrelated administrative procedures.

As the rapid deployment of the city's software systems for various agencies, units, and work tasks has been a key focus, the district has effectively used them in internal management and administration systems, with 100% of agencies, units, people's committees of communes and towns using these resources. Reporting information systems and administrative problem-solving information systems have also been efficiently implemented, contributing to effective management.
In recognition of the significant achievements made during this period, the people and officials of Chuong My District were awarded the First-class Labor Medal by the Party and the State in 2018. In 2022, the district received the Third Class Labor Medal from the State President and the Flag of Excellent Emulation from the Prime Minister.
Chairman of the Chuong My District People's Committee, Nguyen Dinh Hoa, reiterates the district's commitment to preserving its traditions and building on its achievements.
"The authorities and people of Chuong My remain united, ready to face and overcome all difficulties and challenges. By effectively utilizing the potential and advantages of the locality, we are determined to successfully implement the goals and tasks for the 2020-2025 term. The district is committed to developing into a prosperous and beautiful heroic region," Hoa said.
