Former racer David Coulthard, who has won the F1 race 13 times, will drive Red Bull's car outside the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi's western Nam Tu Liem district tonight. The event will open with free entrance for audiences of over 18 years old.
Sebastian Vettel won F1 championship with the car. For the first time, the top speed F1 car will roll in Hanoi.
At the event, the organizers will make public information regarding fares and promotions for next year's race. Besides, a music show will be held with the performance of DJ Armin Van Buuren, Vietnamese singers like Son Tung M-TP and Tung Duong.
The construction F1 track kicked off in Hanoi at the end of March. In a recent interview, F1 Chief Executive Chase Carey was confident that the track will complete on schedule.
Both Chase Carey and the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA)'s President Jean Todt emphasized that the racers are longing forward to Hanoi’s racetrack and hope that the track would meet fans’ expectations.
According to the organizers, the Hanoi’s racetrack is unique because of the combination between city race and street race, with the goal of bringing new experience to drivers. Hanoi will be the second city set to join Singapore in representing South East Asia on the F1 calendar in 2020.
