This year’s Saigon International Guitar Festival will expose the Ho Chi Minh City community to a first-class international musical experience, said an official from the organizing board.
“The Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music will host the annual festival November 11-15 and a large number of top guitarists from around the world have registered to compete,” said the official.
The event includes four main concerts and guest recitals including performances by Russian artist Anton Baranov as well as Jérémy Jouve from France and Padet Netpakdee from Thailand to name only a few.
Nguyen Thanh Hang who graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and now performs and teaches in France will also be one of the featured attractions of the festival.
“I think it will be a memorable weekend and am looking forward to a high calibre experience.”
The festival and competition exposes young players to international talent, which in turn teaches them many skills about competition, career development and the art of public performance.
