Second round of Hanoi Agricultural Exhibition 2024 kicks off

More than 1,500 product lines will be on display at the trade show.

The Hanoi Agriculture Fair 2024 kicked off on August 8 at AEON MALL Long Bien, with 60 booths from 90 organizations, enterprises and OCOP entities from 27 localities.

The four-day fair features more than 1,500 product lines, including agricultural commodities, regional specialties, processed foods, and high-quality One Commune – One Product (OCOP) items with export potential, such as teas, dairy products, bird's nests, vermicelli, noodles, coffee, spices, dried foods, sausages, agarwood, and honey.

A number of cultural side events are planned to stimulate customer interest, create connections across product distribution channels, and attract both domestic and international participants.

The Hanoi Promotion Agency (HPA) will work with AEON Vietnam's purchasing department to identify potential OCOP units and enterprises for future trade cooperation.

The companies will receive guidance on product offerings and quality standards to upgrade production and business operations, with the aim of becoming AEON suppliers.

A variety of activities are designed to keep visitors engaged, from product tastings and stage performances to branding workshops, organic market research sessions, and updates on organic standards and traceability systems.

Key events include a cultural showcase of Hmong clothing, food-tasting challenges, exploration of ancient Shan Tuyet tea, tours of organic chicken farms, and magic shows. The Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has a booth to promote its specialties and OCOP products.

According to Bui Duy Quang, Deputy Director of the HPA, the fair is an important agricultural trade promotion event held annually since 2019 at AEON malls in Long Bien and Ha Dong districts.

It has attracted enthusiastic organizations and enterprises from Hanoi and other regions, showcasing thousands of high-quality agricultural and specialty products, high-tech applications, and OCOP items.

In 2024, three sessions of the fair are planned. The first session was held at AEON Mall Ha Dong from May 16 to 19. The second, the current one, will mark the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's liberation on October 10. The third will be held at AEON MALL Ha Dong from September 26 to 29.

The event is part of an ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Hanoi People's Committee, and AEON Group Japan, aiming to boost Vietnamese exports through AEON's network to US$1 billion by 2025.
