The famous English singer will perform in the first picnic music festival in Vietnam, to be held at the Phu Tho Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City on April 12.
In the evening of March 17, Shayne Ward unexpectedly posted a status for Vietnamese fans on Facebook: "Sin Chow Vietnam, Shayne Ward here. Join me at Beatfest Saturday 12/4/14 Foo Tar stadium, district 10. The premier music festival Vietnam."
The information about the return of The X-Factor UK second season winner to Vietnam appeared several days ago and on Monday evening, Shayne Ward sent his greetings to the Vietnamese audience.
Many young people expressed their sentiments to Shayne Ward and their wishes to see Shayne Ward again. In 2008, Shayne performed in Hanoi in first the Hennessy Artistry concert in Vietnam.
Shayne Ward, 30, rose to fame as the winner of the second series of The X Factor. His debut single, "That's My Goal", was released in the United Kingdom on 21 December 2005 and became the last number one of 2005 on the UK Singles Chart and that year's Christmas number one. It sold 313,000 copies on its first day of sales, making it the third fastest-selling single of all time in the UK, behind Elton John's "Candle in the Wind" and Will Young's "Evergreen", which sold 685,000 and 400,000 copies in their first days of sale respectively.
Follow-up album Breathless, featuring the top 10 hits "If That's OK with You" and "No U Hang Up", was released in November 2007 and topped the Irish charts, where it went 5× Platinum, but only managed number two in the UK.
In November 2010, after a three-year hiatus, Shayne Ward released his third album, Obsession.
Shayne Ward has sold over 3 million records worldwide and has had number one albums and singles in nine countries.
Up to 80 Vietnamese singers will join Shayne Ward in the Beatfest, including famous names like Thuy Tien, Ho Ngoc Ha, Thanh Bui, Ho Quynh Huong, Dam Vinh Hung, Tuan Hung, Hoang Thuy Linh, Le Hieu and Ho Quang Hieu.
International DJ Scott Kirby will be present at Beatfest to stir the air in the first days of summer. In addition to the musical experience, the festival will also bring together 150 booths and unique games like bungee jumping, dunk tank, sumo and others.
