On the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2017), the Economic & Urban Newspaper in collaboration with Hanoi Elderly Photographers Club hosted an photo exhibition titled “Hanoi in me - 2017” with theme of “the capita’s rhythm of life” at the Temple of Literature.
The event is set to take place on October 9 – 13, which will showcase to art lovers 80 pictures of representing the beauty of Hanoi’s streets and activities in socio-economic, urban and the living style of Hanoians. The exhibition is divided into 4 main parts, featuring the themes of landscape, culture, lifestyle and craft village. The exhibition is seen as an opportunity for the public to delve into Hanoi’s heritage with the historical, cultural and architectural wealth of the thousand-year city (“Village Festival” of Tran Quang Hung, “Rice cooking contest” of Van Phuc, “Succession” of Hoang Nhu Thinh, “Festival in the Citadel” of Hong Hanh, etc.,); a place where tradition and integration meet (“Carnival on Hoan Kiem Lake” of Van Phuc, “Cultural exchange” of Duy Linh, etc.,); the exhibition also depicts colorful aspects of Hanoians’ lifestyles and normal lives, from the suburb such as “small valley in craft village” of Tran Quang Hung, “To he (Toy figurine) maker in Xuan La” of Nguyen anh Tuan, “Harvest season” of Nguyen Hong Duoc, “Yellow mattress” of Thai Ngoc Linh, etc., to Hanoi’s center of “Walking near Hoan Kiem Lake” of Van Phuc, etc.,).
80 photos in the exhibition are taken by members of the Hanoi Elderly Photographers Club, reporters and collaborators of the Economic & Urban Newspaper. In addition to reflect the pride in Hanoi – The hero capital, the city of peace, these photos show the photographers’ love for Hanoi – who have lived and worked in Hanoi for many years. These beautiful moments bring an insight into a dynamic Hanoi in the process of development, which is deserved to be the cultural, economic and political center of the country. The event also shows a Hanoi with cultural diversity and is one of the top tourist destination in Vietnam.
“Hanoi in me” is an annual event organized by the Economic & Urban Newspaper in collaboration with Hanoi Elderly Photographers Club. After 11 previous events in 11 years, “Hanoi in me” has become a meeting place for art and Hanoi lovers in every October. The exhibition will mark an impression in the public with the sincerely love for Hanoi. As such, photographers, whether they are artists or reporters, have captured the most beautiful moments of Hanoi.
Among these 80 photos displayed at the exhibition, many have contributed to make an impression for the column “” Hanoi in me” in the Economic & Urban Newspaper editions in the last 12 years. According to Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Photographer Association – Photographer Dao Quang Minh said: ”More than 80 photos displayed in the exhibition are 80 aspects of Hanoians and Hanoi’s lives, which is compatible with the theme “the capita’s rhythm of life. In overall, the quality of these photos are quite good, which have showcased the true value of each photo”.
In this 12th exhibition, “Hanoi in me” has the participation of 37 photographers. They are not only members of the Hanoi Elderly Photographers Club, but also reporters and collaborators of the Economic & Urban Newspaper. Not only in Hanoi, they live in other cities and provinces in Vietnam, but whenever they have opportunities to come to Hanoi and feel the beauty of the capital, these photographers will capture these moments and take it to the exhibition. The exhibition has the best selection of photos from members of of the Hanoi Elderly Photographers Club, but also reporters and collaborators of the Economic & Urban Newspaper. Among these photos, many have received awards in credible photo contests.
