Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung hosted a reception at the Government`s Headquarter for Ms. Lisa Davis, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens Group.At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung acknowledged and appreciated the cooperation and development of the Siemens Group in Vietnam for many years.

To achieve the sustainable growth objective, Vietnam prioritizes developing the suitable network of infrastructure, said the host leader. In the coming time, Vietnam would focus on developing the comprehensive highway system of 2,000 kilometers by 2020, he said. Besides, Vietnam also looks to develop a high-speed railway system and new airports, he added.
Regarding to the energy sector, to ensure electricity supply for the socio-economic development at the GDP growth over 6%, annual electricity growth rate needs to be about 10%, which is a great opportunity for leading corporations like Siemens to expand cooperation and investment in Viet Nam, the Government leader added.
According to Mr. Dung, the application of high-performance, energy-saving, safe and environmentally friendly technologies is a priority for the Vietnamese Government.
For her part, Mrs. Lisa Davis highly spoke of the support of the Vietnamese government, ministries and agencies in recent time, especially the Government’s efforts to improve the business and investment environment.
The guest pledged to support Vietnam more in manpower training. In the future, Siemens wishes to expand investment and business in the fields of transportation infrastructure, mining, oil and gas processing, she said.
Thanked for Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung taking time for receiving her, Ms. Lisa Davis highly appreciated the support of the Government and the ministries of Vietnam for the past time, especially the Government's efforts in reforming environment for investment and business. Committed to using the safest technology in Vietnam, supporting more in training and developing high-quality human resources, Siemens expressed the wish that in the future it can expand investment and business in the fields of infrastructure development for transportation, oil and gas mining.
