Music Night with Chaton
As part of International Francophonie Day, you’re invited to the Music Night with Chaton. The event also takes place in Ho Chi Minh City on March 22 and in Da Nang on March 24.
Known as Chaton or Siméo, Simon Rochon Cohen is a talented French singer-songwriter and music producer. Coming back to Hanoi for the second time after 9 years, Chaton will tell the audience his life story, his dreams, illusions and the loneliness he feel in the most honest way imaginable.
The audience will be mesmerized not only by enchanting musical stories told through his compositions, but also by the refined, rap-esque yet smooth vocals, and more especially the skillful use of auto-tune. A special music night not to be missed.

Singapore Festival to present cuisine, tourism, culture, arts
Hanoi will be hosting its first Singapore Festival on March 23-24 with a wide range of cultural activities. The event is organized by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the embassy of Singapore in Hanoi in coordination with the Hanoi People’s Committee.
The festival will be divided into different areas called tribes. At the Culture Shaper Tribe, visitors will enjoy art installations, cultural performances and films.
The Rainbow Connection is a suspended display of solar light modules that explores the fantastical dreamscape of the deep sea, the woods and the clouds. As the modules gently rotate and sway in the wind, the sculpture seems to come alive. The light units are made from cookie containers and individually hand-coloured.
This artwork was exhibited at the iLight Singapore 2019, Asia’s leading sustainable light art festival, last month.
Other artworks include S*GATTE – a five arched gateway inspired by the five stars that are present on the Singapore flag created by Speak Cryptic (Farizwan Fajari who was born in 1980 in Singapore); paintings Renaissance City and Second Coming created by Eugene Soh (1987) and Rubberband Land by Yellow Mushmellow (Aida).
Local favorites from Michelin-rated restaurants like Hawker Chan and New Ubin Seafood to streetfood stalls will be presented at Foodie Tribe. Festival goers will have a chance to experience rice dumplings by Kim Choo Kueh Chang, popiah (fresh spring roll) by Kway Guan Huat and bak kwa (barbecued meat jerky) by Bee Cheng Hiang.
The Singapore Festival 2019 will be held at Ly Thai To Park. Entrance to the festival is free, with special travel deals and gifts presented to visitors.

Exhibition “Is it necessary to have a name…”
Heritage Space presents “Is it necessary to have a name…” – an anonymous art exhibition showcasing the works by an art group that belongs to the 2nd generation of Vietnamese Contemporary arts.
Anonymous, which was no peculiar to the morphology and the operational structure of cultural operating of the Orient in general and the Vietnamese in particular, seems to be far in the past for so long. However, ‘anonymous’ seems to be forgotten in the present society, where the identity, personality and cognomen are endorsed, each individual who is living either in megacities or in far dark and hidden corners also has the opportunity to speak up and express to the world their presence by different means, choices, based on linear or non-linear platforms.
An exhibition with diverse structures using a variety of media from classic creative disciplines to alternative, customized and independent forms, “Is it necessary to have a name…” presents ways of perceiving the world in different states of reflection and questioning with the anonymity of the artworks’ authors. Not deliberately hiding their identity, or simulating the traditional ‘anonymous’ spirit, the artists voluntarily renounces their names under the titles as a way to challenge themselves, to let the creativity identify and position itself to audience. Let the identity have the opportunity to be re-established by visual presence and artistic expression system.
