Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung had a meeting with newly-appointed Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Catherine Wong on October 7.

At the reception, Singaporean Ambassador Catherine Wong highlighted that Vietnam and Singapore have developed a close relationship, and have been strategic partners, creating a solid foundation for cooperation between the two countries.
Singapore is now the third largest investor in Vietnam, and the top ten countries pouring the biggest capital in Hanoi, the diplomat added.
The ambassador expressed her wish that Hanoi's leaders will continue to facilitate Singaporean businesses investing and expanding their operations in the city.
During the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung congratulated Catherine Wong for her new position, and hoping that the ambassador will be an important bridge to effectively support Singaporean businesses in investing in Vietnam in general and Hanoi city in particular.
The Chairman also said that at the World Cities Summit 2016 (WCS 2016) held in Singapore in July, he has worked with many of Singapore's big firms to call for more investments in Hanoi.
Hanoi's authorities have discussed the cooperation with Singaporean businesses in health services in order to expand hospitals facilities in the city as well as towards an industrial project between the capital and Singapore, Chung added.
Highly appreciating the positive results of the city's Chairman during his recent working visit to Singapore, Catherine Wong believed that Hanoi will reach more big achievements in the coming time.
Singapore businesses will certainly have a positive contribution to the Hanoi's development, she stressed.
The diplomat affirmed that she will try her best efforts to become a bridge for successful bilateral cooperation development in the time ahead.
