Pop star My Tam early this week received the trophy for Southeast Asian Outstanding Artist of the MTV Channel in HCM City.
She was unexpectedly presented the trophy during the 5th Gala of Vietnam Idol 2013 reality show.
In 2013, My Tam’s MV "Like a dream" and five other MVs representing Southeast Asia to participate in the MTV Europe Award.

After a month of voting, from 17/9 to 24/10, the organizers announced that My Tam’s MV topped Southeast Asia, overcoming competitors: Olivia Ong (Singapore), Hafiz (Malaysia), NOAH (Indonesia), Sarah Geronimo (Philippines) and Slot Machine (Thailand). However, My Tam lost in the race for the top 10 MTV EMA 2013 in Europe.
After a year, this cup was sent to Vietnam.
My Tam said: "I am quite surprised to see the trophy sent from Europe. I’ve got this award thanks to the audience’s votes. Thank you everyone who have always supported me in my singing career."
