Exhibition “Primary” of 15 oil paintings by artist Hoang Duy Vang.
A Self-Narration:
It requires abundance of qualities for a person to pursue an art career. Apart from talent and passion for art, it might take so many other factors such as fate, professional tendency and self-awareness all together to lead a man to the profession.
Art is a journey that you cannot fulfil in a day or a life. Art, instead, is like a mission that is carried out by many artists of different generations.
It’s common sense that every job, every career brings about achievements of equal values.
The artist works his fingers to the bone for his artworks; but I believe the audiences also have to put their heart out in order to appreciate the works.
For an artist, continuity is essential in arts since each time the artist creates a new work he discovers new things and evolves, just like a young tree cracking its bark to grow up.
I usually work with my own criteria.
For instance, between 2008 and 2011 the criteria I followed were:
– My momentary inspiration
– My sentimental status
– Each painting had its own life, beyond my control
– How long spectators spend on my art work.
– …
Between 2012 and 2016, my spectrum was enlarged to include criteria such as:
– Spectators can submerge into my paintings
– Small-sized paintings needed to carry enormous meanings
– My paintings bear the sense of smell
– My paintings are obsessional
– …
The longer I’ve been with paintings the more criteria I embrace.
The tears of an artist flows in a reversed order.
Solo Exhibition “Primary” by Artist Hoang Duy Vang open on 02 Apr and be on display until 06 Apr 2017 at Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc St.
