State President hails growing Vietnam-Japan ties

State President Truong Tan Sang applauded the flourishing Vietnam-Japan relations at a reception for a delegation of young parliamentarians from the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan in Hanoi on August 29.

The State leader sated that Vietnam always places high importance on strengthening ties with Japan which is a top priority in its foreign policy.  He also thanked the Japanese Government for maintaining its ODA funding for Vietnam which has greatly helped boost the country’s socio-economic development.

The two nations should intensify high-level delegation visits and exchanges between politicians and parliamentarians thereby enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation for the sake of development and prosperity in the region and the rest of the world, Sang added.

For his part, MatsumotoYohei said young Japanese parliamentarians want to continue their closer cooperation with Vietnamese counterparts in the areas of Japan’s strength with a view to fostering the relations between the two peoples.
