Stockholm is willing to cooperate with Hanoi in the fields of environmental and traffic improvement, urban management and air pollution management, the city's Mayor Anna Konig Jerlmyr said at a meeting with Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.The meeting was held on the sidelines of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to Sweden on May 26-28.

She stressed that Stockholm is willing to partner with Hanoi in the fields of mutual interest such as e-government, smart city as well as addressing the challenges posed to the two countries’ capitals in the urbanization process.
She also shared Sweden's experiences and successful lessons in managing and developing state-owned enterprises and building smart cities.
For his part, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung cited the Central Children Hospital built by Sweden in the 1980s in Hanoi as a symbol of the friendship and cooperation of the two peoples.
Chung briefed host Hanoi’s socio-economic development and its projects focusing on administrative reform, training highly-qualified human resources and transport infrastructure development.
Chung also mentioned about the challenges that Hanoi is facing in its urbanization process, especially traffic congestion, water and air pollution, waste treatment, among others.
The chairman of Hanoi People's Committee proposed the host a number of cooperative contents on the principle of mutual benefit, especially in the fields that Sweden has strengths such as education, vocational training on tourism, innovation, cultural, artistic and people exchanges.
Besides, the two cities’ authorities will create favorable conditions for their businesses to explore opportunities for cooperation and investment. Hanoi’s authority will take measures to attract investment and technology transfer from Swedish enterprises as well as those from Stockholm, focusing on technological solutions to address Hanoi's challenges, including healthcare, environment, new environmental-friendly materials, transport, smart city building and infrastructure to move toward digitizing the economy.
