Strengthening Vietnam-Laos defense cooperation

On the afternoon of October 19, at the Headquarters of the Government, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Lieutenant General Suvon Luongbunmi, Chief of General Staff, Deputy Defense Minister of Laos, who has working visit in Vietnam.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung welcomed Mr. Suvon Luongbunmi to have working visit in Vietnam, praised the results of talks between the Chiefs of General Staff of the armies of the two countries; while emphasizing the visit is a practical contribution to the promotion of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of promoting the friendly cooperation between the two militaries.

Prime Minister stressed that the two countries and the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos have ties of traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation - Relationships are built with bones, blood, with the adjacent shoulder, side by side in the struggle against the aggressor nations, independence of each country in the past, as well as the construction and development of the country today. Party, State and people of Vietnam always attaches importance to consistent, do their best to Laos comrades to continue deepening relations between the two countries in particular, bring the relations of cooperation between 2 sides in-depth, practically and effectively for the benefit and for the common development of both Vietnam and Laos.
 
In this spirit, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung praised the good results of cooperation between the General Staff in particular between the two militaries in general; The Government affirmed that Vietnam is always interested and create favorable conditions for cooperation in all fields between the two General Staffs, delving into effective and practical contributions to national construction and economic development - social and national protection of both Laos and Vietnam.
 
Mr. Suvon Luongbunmi said the visit to Vietnam this time of Lao military delegation to further deepen the cooperation, friendship and mutual understanding between the two militaries.
 
He emphasized that the Lao army will continue to do its utmost to preserve the relationship of traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam. Coordinating and implementing practical and effective cooperation agreement by the Ministry of Defense, contributing to the cause of national construction and defense of each country.
