Both the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) would serve as the driving force to further boost Vietnam-EU relations.
They will focus on training, consultations, and exchanges of expertise, mainly on drought management.
Belgium is one of Vietnam’s major trading partners in Europe with a two-way trade turnover in the first seven months reaching US$1.9 billion, a surge of 40% year on year.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, bilateral trade turnover rose by 61.2% year-on-year to US$285 million in the first six months of this year.
