Themed “FEEL Vietnam”, the 2017 Vietnam Festa aims to attract more than 400,000 visitors, an ambitious number that surpasses its 2015 record.
The festival will feature a host of cultural activities, including water puppetry performance, musical concerts, talks about Vietnam and the display of Vietnamese flower paintings and lanterns.
The organizing board said it will also make September the Vietnam month in Kanagawa for further promotion events apart from the Vietnam Festa. Established in 2015, the Vietnam Festa is the biggest Vietnamese festival in Japan jointly held by the Vietnam Embassy and Kanagawa prefecture. The first Vietnam festival in Kanagawa made a good impression on the people of Kanagawa.
The second Vietnam festival in Kanagawa kicks off from October 28 – 30, 2016 in Yokohama city. The event marks the development of cultural exchange between the two countries, which has been expanded to not only Tokyo but also other localities in Japan. It aims to introduce Vietnamese culture to Japanese people and contribute to the fine development of Vietnam-Japan relations.
Diverse activities will be held this year to strengthen economic, trade, tourism and cultural connectivity between Vietnam and Kanagawa. Visitors had an opportunity to enjoy cultural, art and music performances and fashion shows and taste Vietnam traditional dishes. Vietnamese localities and enterprises were showcased their products at 100 pavilions during the festival.
