The fourth train of Hanoi Metro Railway arrives in Vietnam

The Nhon-Hanoi Station urban railway project has a rolling stock of 10 trains, designed by French manufacturer Alstom. Three of these trains have been brought to the Hanoi for trials.

The cargo ship carrying the fourth train of Nhon- Hanoi Railway Station arrived in Vietnam on  May 1, ten days later than schedule due to the accident of Ever Given, a container ship, leading to the block of Egypt's Suez Canal for one week last month.

The ship had to take an alternative route, which is around 10,000 kilometers longer than the expected way, according to Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board.

The Nhon-Hanoi Station urban railway project has a rolling stock of 10 trains, designed by French manufacturer Alstom. So far, three of these trains have been brought to the Hanoi for trials.

After docking at the port, the train will be transported Hanoi, where it will be assembled and run on a trial basis before being put into operation.

Themed “Green Journey”, the new train is painted in green, dark pink and white. The locomotive is decorated with the image of Khue Van Cac (Constellation of Literature Pavilion), the symbol of Hanoi.

The train is designed for running on standard track gauge (1,435 mm), which was made of aluminum alloy with light weight and environmentally-friendly and has longer durability, meeting the latest European standards.

The train is capable of carrying more than 1,000 people with a designed speed of 80km/h and running at a commercial speed of 35km/h.

The first, second and third metro trains arrived in Vietnam on October 18, 2020 and February 5, 2021, and February 22, 2021, respectively. The other six trains are being manufactured in France and will be likely transported to Vietnam by July, 2021.
