The reception of Israeli President hosted by the Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung

Hanoitimes – On 21st March, Nguyễn Đức Chung, the Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee, welcomed the President of the State of Israel, Reuven Ruvi Rivlin in framework of his State Visits to Vietnam (19th – 25th March).

 
On behalf of local government and people, the Chairman sincerely thanked the President for taking the time to meet and discuss with Hanoi’s leaders. He also emphasized that the President’s first visit here is an expression of the growing friendship which between Vietnam and Israel.
Chairman Chung expressed his admiration for the achievements of Israel, a country that has thrived on science, technology and innovation. Israel’s experience gained during its development was valuable to Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular.
In terms of priorities for Hanoi’s future development, the city leaders introduced 8 proposals in the context of the full realization of the potential for cooperation between our two countries. Those proposals included: (1) cooperating, signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and establishing a Hanoi-Tel Aviv relationship; (2) sharing experience to support creative startups, especially in the formation of mechanisms and policies, providing startup services, mobilizing resources for startups to create an advantageous environment for enterprises to develop; (3) launching cooperation projects on IT, building up an electronic government and smart city; (4) transferring agricultural production technology, allocating resources effectively for ranching, cultivation and productivity improvement; (5) Supporting to train high-performance workforce for Hanoi; (6) Enhancing educational level in Hanoi according to international standards; (7) Cooperating with Israeli corporations to invest and produce high-tech equipment; (8) Collaborating with Israeli enterprises to construct high-tech hospitals in Hanoi.
Israeli President, in response to above proposals, affirmed his desire for developing multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular. The President underscored to strengthen bilateral relationship and collaboration between two countries in fields of science and technology, therefore, together promoting education, agriculture, trade and national security in the coming time.
With Israeli technology, know-how and startup experience, the President said that he would communicate with relevant authorities to create more opportunities and expand operations for enterprises in both countries to develop.
