Third cartoons festival

The third cartoon festival has been held in Hanoi fromJune 1, until June 8 at the Hanoi Library.Cartoon lovers will have the chance to visit two exhibitions by well-known artists from Vietnam and Belgian. o­n display are works by 40 Belgian cartoonists and 11 young Vietnamese artists.

Cartoon lovers will have the chance to visit two exhibitions by well-known artists from Vietnam and Belgian. o­n display are works by 40 Belgian cartoonists and 11 young Vietnamese artists.


Belgian authors Jean-Claude Servais and Jean Auquier held a seminar yesterday about the art of composing cartoon stories and held discussions with young readers.

According to Pham Quang Vinh, director of Kim Dong Publishing House, the exhibition marked the development in the quality of Vietnamese cartoons.

The opening ceremony of the festival will be held at 4.30pm today at the Hanoi Library, 47 Ba Trieu St. The event has been co-organised by Wallonie – Bruxelles Delegation and Kim Dong Publishing House. The two previous cartoon festivals held in 2010 and 2011 proved popular with the public.
