Thua Thien-Hue launches virtual reality tour for visitors.

By taking the virtual tour, visitors are invited to take a tour inside a multidimensional space where the past and present meet, travelling back to 200 years ago to explore the elaborate design and grandiose exteriors of Khai Dinh tomb, the resting place of Khai Dinh Emperor (1885 - 1925), recreated in glorious colours.
The launch of the tour aims to add a highlight for visitors during their exploration of the Complex of Hue Monuments, which was honoured by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
In addition, Thua Thien–Hue has completed preparations for the 10th edition of the biennial Hue Festival. Hue Festival 2018 aims to promote art exchanges among cultures and introducing unique values of the culture of Vietnam and Hue, thus boosting service-tourism growth and strengthening socio-economic development of Thua Thien-Hue, according to Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the festival’s organising board Nguyen Dung.
In 2017, Thua Thien-Hue welcomed 3.8 million visitors, marking a 16.6% year-on-year increase. A remarkable aspect of this growth was a 42,5% increase in the number of international visitors. Tourism earnings rose 10% to VND3.5 trillion (US$154 million), helping the sector’s social revenue, meaning earnings of other sectors servicing tourists, reach VND8.8 trillion (US$387 million), according to Thua Thien-Hue Department of Tourism.
