Contests honor Hanoi's glorious past and young heroes

Contestants should share their thoughts about the achievements and significant historical events of the city, depict the images of heroes and martyrs, famous landscapes, historical relics associated with the milestones of the liberation of the city.

Youth and children in Hanoi have the opportunity to participate in two contests:  "Hanoi in My Eyes" and "Book Review - Nurturing Pink Dreams with Green Pages" in 2024.

The two competitions aim to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024), the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), and the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).

The painting contest is aimed at participants aged 6 to 11 years old and highlights the glorious achievements and significant historical events of the capital. It seeks to depict the images of heroes, martyrs, famous landscapes, and historical relics associated with the milestones of the capital's liberation.

Other themes include young heroes in the process of nation-building and defense, as well as the proud and illustrious traditions of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, tied to the history of building and developing the city.

The deadline to submit entries for the city level competition is March 30.

The book review contest titled "Proud of Capital Heroes" is open to Vietnamese and international youth living in the city, aged 12-22.

Participants will be tasked with summarizing the content of their favorite book and expressing their reflections on the book, highlighting the valuable lessons it has imparted to them in the realms of both study and life. 

They should also share their thoughts about the achievements and significant historical events of the city, depict the images of heroes and martyrs, famous landscapes, historical relics associated with the milestones of the liberation of the city.

 Entries for this contest should be in the form of a video clip, no longer than five minutes, presented in Vietnamese or English (with Vietnamese subtitles).

 Entrants must send the link to their uploaded YouTube entry to rangsachxanh2024.dhcdhv@gmail.com.

The results of both contests will be posted on https://www.facebook.com/hoidongdoi.tphanoi/.

The announcement of the results and the awards ceremony for both competitions will take place in April.

The most outstanding participants and entries from the two competitions will be selected for promotion and exhibition at the activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the capital’s Liberation Day.
