US citizen of Vietnamese origin killed in Las Vegas massacre
Michelle Vo, a Vietnamese American woman, was among the 59 victims of the massacre in Las Vegas city, the US state of Nevada, on Oct 1 night.

With nearly 600 people injured and dead, the mass shooting in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is the deadliest in the US history. Hospital officials said at least 45 people are still in critical condition after being wounded during the shooting.
Embassy announces Las Vegas shooting hotlines for Vietnamese
The Vietnamese Embassy in the US has announced two hotlines to provide timely assistance for Vietnamese in need after the Las Vegas shooting on Oct 1.
The numbers are 202-716-8666 and 202-368-2265.The embassy said it stood ready to provide consular assistance to any Vietnamese who may have been affected.Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Pham Quang Vinh provided constant updates on the gunfire and close contact with the Las Vegas Department of Police and Department of Foreign Office to follow the situation of the Vietnamese community in the city.He noted that the Las Vegas authorities have pledged to quickly provide information for the Vietnamese Embassy through a hotline if they discover any Vietnamese casualties, whether they are Vietnamese tourists or expatriates.It is reported that many Vietnamese were working in the area where the shootings occurred at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. However, most of them work in the service industry, such as cleaning and dealers, while the music concert was held outdoors
