Vietnam accords red carpet welcome to Japan PM Suga

At the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide and his spouse are on a visit in Vietnam from October 18 – 20.

The official ceremony for welcoming Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide was held today [October 19] at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi.

 This is Mr. Suga Yoshihide’s first foreign visit as Japanese Prime Minister, which took place just one month after becoming the Prime Minister of Japan and this is the second time in a row that a newly elected Japanese Prime Minister chose Vietnam as the first country to visit.

 Both Mr. Phuc and Mr. Suga are set to hold a meeting, witness the signing of a number of agreements and meet the press afterwards.

 The State visit of Japan’s Prime Minister aims to bolster the bilateral comprehensive partnership, including major fields in trade, investment, education, culture, as well as international issues.
 Vietnam welcomes Prime Minister Suga’s decision to select Vietnam as the first country to visit after taking the office, which shows the strong relations between the two countries.
