In spite of a short time after the official notice, Vietnam’s effort as the host has been highly regarded by the US and North Korean leaders, as well as from the world community, PM Phuc said at the government’s monthly meeting on March 1.

This result once again emphasized Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development, showcasing Vietnam as a responsible member of the world community, Phuc added.

On this occasion, Vietnam has promoted the image of a peace-loving country with many achievements during the economic reform and global integration processes.

According to Phuc, Vietnam has introduced to the world a country with diversified culture and cuisines, friendly and open people.

On this note, he commended Hanoi’s local authority in making the capital green, beautiful and an orderly city during the summit.

Despite the unexpected outcome of the summit, the PM said the event has set direction for more positive news in the future and ultimately the peace in the Korean Peninsula.

US President Donald Trump left Vietnam yesterday after holding a press conference on the no-deal summit. Trump acknowledged that US sanctions against North Korea remain the biggest sticking point in negotiations with North Korea.

Meanwhile, North Korean leader Kim remains in Vietnam where he is due to begin an official state visit Friday.
