Vietnam Airlines and youth union plant 11,000 trees in Quang Ninh
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union have jointly organized a tree-planting event, planting 11,000 casuarina trees (equivalent to five hectares) to create a coastal buffer forest in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province.
This was one of the main activities of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s launching ceremony of the Youth Month, the Tree Planting Festival, and Vietnam Airlines’ major community supporting programs in 2018.
At the ceremony, Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee Pham Minh Chinh, together with the representatives of the central and local departments/committees, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines Dang Ngoc Hoa, and more than 2,000 young people have joined hands to plant trees to raise awareness of environmental protection as well as building up and attracting green, clean, and friendly tourism in Quang Ninh.
With the role and mission of the national airline, accompanying Quang Ninh province in promotion programs for culture, tourism, as well as commercial and community support activities, Vietnam Airlines wishes to join hands to protect and bring a green, clean, and beautiful environment to Quang Ninh’s people as well as other localities in the country. The airline takes special pride in facilitating economic development and sustainable tourism at the country’s famous sites, according to Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines Dang Ngoc Hoa.
Vietnam Airlines and the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province have jointly organized a range of social activities supporting the poor and planted 50,000 trees for landscape improvement at one of the large coal fields in Quang Ninh last year.
In early 2018, Vietnam Airlines and Quang Ninh province signed a strategic co-operation agreement to support the development and promotion of tourism and expand its flight network to and from Van Don Airport. The two sides work to advertise Quang Ninh as a tourism destination as well as promote Vietnam Airlines’ image, products, and services, in addition to past and future community support activities.
