Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of airline reviews and ratings submitted by travelers worldwide, over a 12-month period on TripAdvisor Flights. Airlines are rated on such categories as customer service, seats, sanitation, meals and drinks, check-in procedures, and entertainment facilities.
TripAdvisor airline reviews launched in July 2016, giving travellers a platform to share their candid feedback - both good and bad - about all major airlines around the globe. Along with submitting written feedback, customers can rate the carriers on legroom, seat comfort, customer service, value for money, cleanliness, check-in and boarding, food and beverage and in-flight entertainment.
Vietnam Airlines have received more than 4,000 out of 900,000 reviews from TripAvisor users to 550 airlines around the world. Over the past 2 years, the national flag carrier has been awarded 4-star services by UK-based SkyTrax.
