National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines plans to add two return flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and Changzhou city, Jiangsu province, China, on January 27 when Vietnam will play in the finals against Uzbekistan in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship.
To the excitement of millions of football fans, the Vietnamese national team made history by fighting its way into the Asian Cup final. In celebration, from January 26-28, 2018, Vietnam Airlines will pay the full costs for two family members of each player to see the Championship finals in China, including airfare as well as food, accommodation, travel, and visa.
At the same time, to assist millions of Vietnamese fans travelling to China to support the national team, Vietnam Airlines has applied for permission from aviation authorities to make 2 return flights on January 27 from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Changzhou city. The company will also arrange free shuttle for supporters of the Vietnam U23 team from the airport to Changzhou Olympic Stadium. Vietnam Airlines’ flights to Changzhou will use Airbus A321 plus aircrafts with international-standard, 4-star service quality.

On January 23, Vietnam surprised the world by securing a berth in the finals of the AFC U23 Championship by beating Qatar in a penalty shootout after an extraordinary 2-2 draw. With this win, Vietnam became the first Southeast Asian country to enter the finals of the AFC U23 championship.
