Vietnam aviation authority requires airlines to stop selling excessive number of tickets
Three local airlines have been found to sell tickets that exceed the airport slots allocated.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has requested Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air and Bamboo Airways to stop selling air tickets exceeding the allocated airport slots.

This information was made after the CAAV checked and monitored the ticketing activities of local airlines for the winter season, including the Lunar New Year holiday.
In case the airlines ignore the request, the AAV will stop authorizing flights or flight increase for the next season.
During the period of the Lunar New Year 2021, Vietnamese air carriers will not conduct outbound flights, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, instead they focus on exploiting domestic routes.
For the upcoming Tet 2021, more than 1,000 domestic flights per day are expected on average, 28% more than the same period last year, with up to 1,200 daily flights on peak days, an increase of 25.3% over the same period last year.
In addition to the day flights, Vietnamese air carriers will increase the number of night flights in the time frame from 22:00 to 7:00 am the next day, averaging 140–150-night flights per day.
The CAAV’s Director, Dinh Viet Thang, affirmed that the authority still keeps the airport slots allocation unchanged.
