Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has called on the UK to share its experience in education and provide Vietnam with technical assistance.
The Deputy PM made the appeal at a reception for the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, Lord David Terence Puttnam, in Hanoi on February 26.
He reasoned that UK education is developing strongly and the Vietnamese Government wishes to build an education sector with a vision towards the next five decades.
Speaking highly of the strategic partnership between the two countries, especially in economics, trade and investment, he said such cooperative outcomes have brought about practical benefits to each country’s development.
Vietnam and the UK hold huge opportunities to further their relationship, particularly with two-way trade rapidly increasing, the minister said.
For his part, Lord Puttnam said the UK has always valued cooperation with Vietnam and that he hopes that outstanding agreements reached between the two can be implemented soon.
He suggested Vietnam assess its demands for human resources in future to devise a long-term training plan in order to meet the requirements of sustainable development.
