Vietnam and Cambodia affirmed their determination to complete demarcation of the land border as soon as possible in oder to build a border of peace, stability, cooperation and development.
On October 19, in Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hor Namhong of Cambodia co-chaired the 14th Session Vietnam - Cambodia Joint Commission on Cooperation of Economy, Culture, Science - Technique.
At the session, the two sides focused on reviewing the implementation of the cooperation agreement of the 13th session of the Vietnam - Cambodia Joint Commission, agreed that the two countries' top leaders frequently exchanged, held many friendly visits to deepen and further strengthen solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides agreed that cooperation in the fields of economic, trade and investment between the two countries has seen strong growth. Cooperation in education and training, telecommunications, agriculture, forestry, fishery, tourism, finance and banking, healthcare, aviation, energy, oil and gas... are all strengthened.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh highly appreciated the cooperation of the Royal Government of Cambodia in the fields of politics, economy, cultures, especially in the Cambodian government to ensure benefits of the oversea Vietnamese living in Cambodia, consistent with regulations and laws of Cambodia and in the spirit of friendship and neighborly relations between the two countries in recent years.
Deputy PM calls for education and training, the next time the two countries' authorities should continue to focus on training students; promoting and strengthening cooperation in the selection of Cambodian students to Vietnam, in which focusing on training Vietnamese for Cambodian students before learning in Vietnam.
On behalf of the Government and people of Cambodia, Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister would like to thank the attention and practical support, comprehensive Government and people of Vietnam during recent years. He also affirmed that in this session, the Cambodian authorities will continue efforts to implement measures to further concretize the Agreement signed between the two countries, thereby contributing to nurture Vietnam - Cambodia traditional ties.
On this occasion, representatives of Vietnam and Cambodia signed the MOU of the session as an important basis for the ministries, branches and localities of the two sides to cooperate in the future, put relations good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability of the two countries for sustainable development. Under the agreement, 15th Vietnam - Cambodia Joint Commission session will be held in Cambodia in 2016.
