The Vietnamese government advocates increased presence of French businesses in the Southeast Asian country, said Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue while receiving General Director for Asia Directorate under France's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Thierry Mathou in Hanoi on November 3.

The meeting was in the frame of the official visit by French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe, who was accompanied by entrepreneurs from the French Business Association, to Vietnam between November 2 and 4.
French businesses forming the delegation specialize in diverse fields such as energy, infrastructure, healthcare, information technology and start-ups. "They all look forward to working with Vietnamese businesses for mutual development," said Thierry Mathou.
Many French businesses’ representatives agreed that economic cooperation between the two sides could further grow. They are confident of investing in Vietnam given France's experience in anti-counterfeiting, intellectual property, healthcare, digital technology development, and smart cities.
Stressing that Vietnam's economy has been stable over the years despite global uncertainties, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue said applauded the goodwill of the French businesses to invest in the country.

He emphasized that Vietnam hopes the French business community to urge French authorities to soon approve the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.
