The volume of Vietnam`s rice export to African markets in the first seven months of this year rose by 52% in the comparison to the same period last year.
Vietnam exported 525,896 tonnes of rice to African markets in the first seven months of this year, accounting for nearly 16% of the country’s total rice export volume and growing by 52% compared to the same period of last year.
The key Vietnamese rice consumers are Ghana, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Algeria.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Department of African, West Asian and South Asian Markets,
attributed the surge to the lower price of Vietnamese rice than those of Thailand and India.
Meanwhile, in the Middle East market, Vietnam gained over 12 million USD from shipping 21,419 tonnes of rice to the United Arab Emirates, up 37% against the same period last year.
