Vietnam congratulates and highly appreciates the efforts made by the Republic of Korea (RoK) and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in organizing the Inter-Korean Summit on April 27.
The Vietnam's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said that in reply to reporters' question over the inter-Korean Summit.
“Vietnam believes that the RoK, the DPRK and concerned parties will redouble efforts to promote dialogues and carry forward active outcomes they have recorded over the past time to lay a long-term foundation for peace, stability and development on the peninsula and the region, meeting aspirations of people of the two Koreas, and for the sake of the international community,” said the Vietnamese official.
The RoK and the DPRK marked a historic milestone on April 27, after their leaders signed a joint declaration, which vow to formally end 65-year-old conflict between the two countries and seek the "complete denuclearization" of the Korean Peninsula.
The meeting has made significant contribution to peace and stability in the region and the world as a whole, including the acceleration of denuclearization on the Korean peninsula, according to Hang.
