A photo exhibition on Vietnam heritage is underway by the Hoan Kiem lake side, Hanoi since November 2.
More than 100 entries from the 2018 Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards were displayed in celebration of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23), the 7th of its kind.
The 107 photos were sorted out from 4,573 entries by 526 authors to mark the 73rd signing anniversary of the Decree on preserving national cultural heritages by president Ho Chi Minh.
The best 107 entries feature nature, tangible and intangible culture and lifestyle of Vietnam, alongside with the topics Vietnamese Traditional Long Dress and Travel with Vietjet.
A similar exhibition will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on November 3, together with the 2018 Canon Photo Marathon tournament. The awarding ceremony is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City in late November.
The 2018 Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards highlight the discovery of natural and cultural heritage values, Vietnamese nature, history and culture. The award winning pictures will be published on Vietnam Heritage magazine and websites.
The winner of this year’s Vietnam Heritage Photo special prizes were Le Viet Khanh with the photo Huong Tet (Tet Flavor) and Hoang Thach Van with the photo series “Le Wa Ha” (Wa Ha Festival) in the categories of cover photo and photo collection.
With a fully constructed layout, the work “Huong Tet” highlighted the traditional features of Vietnamese Tet (Lunar New Year Festival); meanwhile the series ‘Le Wa Ha’ reproduced a traditional festival of Cham Bani people in the South-Central region.
